Lucy, gone

Lucy has officially left us. She had no chance of recovery, really, even if the Heparin suddenly worked. How much can you put a loved cat through? Not this. So, she is gone on a rainy, cold Friday evening at the end of October.

I’ve said this before, and it always sounds slightly canned, but it’s always true: the important thing is not that she’s gone, but that she was here in the first place – and that’s what made all the difference.

Once again, please accept my sincere condolences for the passing of a beloved pet. It never gets easier, does it?

It never does get easier. You just know what to expect after a while, which doesn’t really help. But it’s true: it was so very important that she was here.
